Meet Dr. Heald

Stephanie Heald has a Ph.D. in Education, a MS in Education, a BA in Elementary Education, and an AAS in Early Childhood Education.  She also holds a dual advanced certificate in Building and District Level Educational Leadership from St. John’s University, where she graduated with the honor of Kappa Delta Pi. Her journey has since included conducting district and school-wide professional development, instructing higher education students in traditional and online courses, elementary classroom teaching, coaching, and mentoring, facilitating a bi-weekly education Podcast, and leading district and countywide literacy initiatives. She is currently the Program Chair for the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education-Administration at the University of Arizona Global Campus and an adjunct instructor at other higher education institutions.

While moving to five different states in as many years, Stephanie immersed herself in the local schools in addition to connecting online with educators across the world. This immersion not only allowed her to meet educators and see local efforts, but opened her eyes to the real need for global quality learning experiences accessible to all. It was then that she adopted the philosophy as an educator, and also as an individual dedicated to making a difference.  In 2018, she traveled to Haiti where she was able to instruct in a local school and truly saw how her work with One to the First Power could make a difference.

In 2021, Dr. Heald was honored as one of Orlando's Women of the Year, an award submitted by her students at the University of South Florida.  Dr. Heald was recognized in 2020 with an adjunct Teaching Award and in 2019 with a Service Award as an Assistant Professor for the University of Arizona Global Campus.   On numerous occasions, she has been recognized for her involvement in local youth organizations and her commitment to her humanitarian role.
